US ’42 Field Pattern Hunting Knife
US ’42 Field Pattern Hunting Knife
Every knife is 100% handmade. Every part of it is made by hand, not mass produced, not machine perfect. Variations in finish, lines, and shape are normal and part of the character of a genuine handmade knife. BTK knives are my designs, handmade to my specs and hand finished in Australia with a dull working polish, built for use.
Intended Use:
This knife is designed for lawful hunting, camping and bush use only. It is not intended for combat or unlawful activity. Buyers are responsible for complying with their local laws.
This is my take on the US ’42 Field Pattern knife.
I chose this design because it’s a clean military field pattern from the early 1940s. Straightforward, practical and built around function rather than flash.
The blade is 25cm of 1095 high carbon steel, tough and made to hold a proper working edge. It’s sharpened on one side with a solid spine, keeping it durable and reliable in the field.
The handle is 13cm with an aluminium guard, giving solid hand protection while keeping the overall weight down and the balance comfortable.
It weighs 365g including the leather sheath, making it one of the lighter field patterns while still feeling solid in the hand.
Like the rest of my knives, this is a functional replica. It’s built to be used, not just displayed.
It comes with a 100% genuine leather sheath to suit the blade properly.
NOTE: Sheath colour may differ from the picture depending on available dyes at the time of production.
Specs:

Handle length: 13cm
Steel: 1095 high carbon
Edge: Single edge
Guard: Aluminium
Sheath: Genuine leather
Total weight (with sheath): 365g
Steel Care:
This knife is made from 1095 high carbon steel. That means it’s tough and holds a great edge, but like all high carbon steels, it needs basic maintenance. Keep it lightly oiled to prevent rust. After use — especially after hunting or being outdoors — wipe it down and give it a light spray of WD-40 or another quality oil. A quick wipe with an oiled rag every now and then will keep it in good condition.
Simple. Practical. Built properly.
Made for Australians.
