The Australian Far East Bowie Chindit Style
The Australian Far East Bowie Chindit Style
Every knife is 100% handmade. Every part of it is made by hand, not mass produced, not machine perfect. Variations in finish, lines, and shape are normal and part of the character of a genuine handmade knife. BTK knives are my designs, handmade to my specs and hand finished in Australia with a dull working polish, built for use.
Intended Use
This knife is designed for lawful hunting, camping, collecting, and bush use only. It is not intended for combat or unlawful activity. Buyers are responsible for complying with their local laws.
The Australian Far East Bowie Chindit Style is a rugged WWII inspired field knife based on the hard use jungle knives carried across the Far East and Pacific.
It takes influence from the Chindit style fighting knives of the Burma campaign, while also fitting the wider Australian and Commonwealth jungle knife tradition of WWII. Simple, strong, practical, and made for rough conditions.
The blade is 25cm of 1095 high carbon steel, strong and made to hold a proper working edge. It is sharpened on one side with a solid spine, keeping it durable and dependable for real use.
The handle is 15cm with a steel guard, giving proper hand protection and a secure grip. The longer handle makes it comfortable, balanced, and controlled in the hand.
It weighs 570g including the sheath, giving it solid presence without being excessive.
Like the rest of my knives, this is a functional replica. It is built to be used, not just displayed.
It comes with a 100% genuine leather sheath made to suit the blade properly.
NOTE: Sheath colour may differ from the picture depending on available dyes at the time of production.
Simple. Solid. Built properly.

Steel Care
This knife is made from 1095 high carbon steel. That means it is tough and holds a great edge, but like all high carbon steels, it needs basic maintenance.
Keep it lightly oiled to help prevent rust. After use, especially after hunting, camping, or being outdoors, wipe it down and give it a light spray of WD-40 or another quality oil.
A quick wipe with an oiled rag every now and then will keep it in good condition.
